IIT Ropar Launches ‘100 Startups 100 Days’ to Accelerate India’s Deep-Tech Ecosystem

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has launched “100 Startups 100 Days,” a national programme designed to strengthen India’s deep-tech and AI startup ecosystem. The initiative will serve as a key precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and aims to support early-stage founders nationwide.

The programme will begin on December 16, 2025, and will run for 100 days. During this time, selected startups will receive hands-on mentoring, access to research facilities, and guidance from industry experts. As a result, founders can move faster from idea testing to market-ready products.

Preparing for India’s Global AI Spotlight

At the same time, the initiative supports India’s growing role in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. By running ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the programme seeks to identify startups that can create real-world impact.

Moreover, the summit will highlight India’s voice in global AI discussions, especially from the Global South. Therefore, initiatives like this help ensure that innovation remains inclusive and practical.

Strong Support from Academia and Industry

To strengthen its impact, IIT Ropar has brought together academic partners, innovation hubs, and industry leaders. Its Technology Business Incubator Foundation will lead incubation efforts, while national centres of excellence will offer technical support.

In addition, startups will gain access to mentors, funding guidance, and government-backed innovation schemes. This support structure helps founders focus on building strong and sustainable businesses.

Focus on High-Impact Technology Areas

The programme will support startups working in AgriTech, WaterTech, IoT, cyber-physical systems, and applied AI. These sectors address urgent challenges and offer strong growth potential.

Beyond technology, the programme will also guide founders on business planning, customer needs, and long-term growth. As a result, startups can build solutions that are both useful and scalable.

Building a Stronger Startup Foundation

Overall, “100 Startups 100 Days” reflects the belief that startups grow best with the right support at the right time. By offering focused guidance within a clear timeline, IIT Ropar aims to speed up innovation while encouraging collaboration.

As India continues to expand its startup ecosystem, such initiatives play a vital role. They help turn promising ideas into strong ventures that can create lasting economic and social value.
