The change stems from the rapid rise of deepfakes<\/strong>. Fake political speeches, cloned celebrity voices, and manipulated videos now flood social platforms. Officials say labeling is no longer optional \u2014 it\u2019s essential to protect citizens from misinformation<\/strong> and maintain public trust.<\/p>\n

Under the new rule, any AI-generated or AI-altered content<\/strong> must carry a visible label, much like ads or sponsored posts do today.<\/p>\n

Experts argue that LLM developers and AI platform owners<\/strong> \u2014 like OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic \u2014 should bear most of the burden.
