Mindgrove’s chip offers programmability, flexibility, security, and high computing power for managing various smart devices from wearables like smartwatches to smart city devices like connected electricity, water, and gas meters to connected home devices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These also include like smart locks, fans, speakers, as well as, as well as EV battery management systems and control systems, amongst others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mindgrove designed and sent out the chip for manufacturing within eight months, which is faster than industry standards of two to three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe set out to design chips that target the middle market,\u201d said Shashwath TR, CEO and Co-founder of Mindgrove.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mindgrove’s chip can control devices \u2014 from smartwatches to smart city devices like connected electricity, water, and gas metres \u2014 to connected home devices and even EV battery management systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The country consumes over a billion chips a year and anywhere between 10 to 50 million of them can be replaced by ‘Secure IoT’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shashwath said that there is widespread demand for microchips worldwide, and that \u201cwe expect global buyers to be excited about a new option from India.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n As per predictions and demand India will need semiconductors worth $90-$100 billion by FY26, largely driven by mobile manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The chip is a high-performance microcontroller clocked at 700 MHz.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n (Image courtesy: Indiatoday)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The IIT Madras-incubated startup Mindgrove technologies launched the country’s first commercial, high-performance SoC (system on chip).
