Indian Start-up ecosystem has witnessed an array of women entrepreneurs who have made it big and successful in their entrepreneurial journey. Today as we celebrate International Women\u2019s Day we take a glimpse into some of their remarkable journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Indian scenario there are 58% female entrepreneurs who started at a very young age and the revenue they generated is about 10 lakhs, and this is about 73%. And 40% started solo journey, and 35% are cofounder who generated about 5 lakhs of employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In our country decades have passed , women have been looked down upon and restricted to only household job and cores, bring up kid and taking care of family, the usher in entrepreneurship journey of women helped in bringing out their leadership qualities who are making significant contribution towards our economy, business growth and taking tough business related decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another factor that contributed to their entrepreneurial growth is women entrepreneurs that have slightly more flexible set of terms and conditions pertaining to collateral security, interest rates, that banks have to offer etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today as we celebrate International Women\u2019s Day we will go through the journeys of few Successful Women Entrepreneurs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Upma Kapoor, Owner, Teal & Terra<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Upma Kapoor, started the personal body care a startup with 8lakhs, in 2017. Her journey is an inspiration to many women who overcame the journey of life with sheer grit and determination. Upma\u2018s story is an inspiration to many, being a single mother to her son simultaneously facing the struggles of market and competitors. In very short span of time Upma\u2019s brand Teal & Terra made space in the organic beauty industry in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The start-up venture\u2019s product manufacturing is done mostly in Gurugram & Delhi. The Onion Hair oil is the brands most sought after products<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monisha Narke, CEO- RUR Greenlife<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n RUR Greenlife is an initiative to protect our environment which is fast reducing in green resources, a pioneer Waste Management company that aims to educate citizens being more eco conscious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The business model operates in two ways. Business to Business (B2B model) and Business to customer model (B2C), where in gathering of Tetra pack waste, cleaning and flattening it and further recycle the waste into usable products. Monisha started RuR Greenlife in 2009 aiming to bring in sustainability through recycling program. She is a Masters graduate in Industrial and engineering sciences from Standford University and a proud mother of two grown up kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Suchi Mukherjee, Founder & CEO Lime Road<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Suchi Mukherjee created one of the most successful women\u2019s only marketplaces in South-east Asia. Mukherjee is a mother to two kids and a successful entrepreneur who got voted in 2011 in Global women\u2019s Forum as No1 among 15 rising Talent global leaders under 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lime Road received the coolest startup of the year award from Business Today group in 2015.Suchi is an inspiration to other women entrepreneur who are married and have family and want to create a name for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Suchi concentrated on women-centric fashion e-commerce platform and worked very hard to bring Lime Road where it is today. In 2018, Suchi was in stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the \u201cStart-up India-Stand up India\u201d conference. Suchi\u2019s success mantra is to be consistent in doing what we do and creating something unique is a part of that journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shradha Shradha, Founder YourStory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Shradha Sharma started her career in entrepreneurship when she was at the peak of her career while working with famous news media houses like the Times of India and CNBC in Mumbai. Her idea was to feature these entrepreneurs, particularly young female entrepreneurs in India, was rejected by several channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shradha as a women entrepreneur wanted to bring in focus stories of women entrepreneur and found that there was no platform to cover these success stories.
