Alekar set up her startup <strong>Volar Alta<\/strong> in February 2020 with the idea of using drones in confined spaces and reducing the risks individuals face doing this job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Niharika Kolte Alekar started her career as an investment banker (part of the mergers and acquisitions team at PwC &amp; KPMG) before venturing into entrepreneurship\/ She launched Volar Alta with a vision to use technology to upgrade the inspection process while reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.volaralta.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Volar Alta<\/a><\/strong> is a one-stopshop for drone-based inspections, data processing, and analysis for the Infrastructure space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"152\" src=\"https:\/\/www.founderlabs.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/volar-alta-1.png\" alt=\"How an Investor Banker Turned into an Entrepreneur?\" class=\"wp-image-1655\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.founderlabs.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/volar-alta-1.png 624w, https:\/\/www.founderlabs.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/volar-alta-1-300x73.png 300w, https:\/\/www.founderlabs.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/volar-alta-1-150x37.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Achievements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Her venture received support from European giant Alstom and Consulting firm Accenture. Alstom had awarded a grant of Rs 1.5 crores to 10 startups including Volar Alta as part of its sustainability incubation program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Various big companies across the cement, chemical, cement, power, and steel industries in India successfully use Alekar\u2019s innovative idea.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She was selected as the winner of the Pune Chapter of the Global Pitch Competition in August 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She was honored by Women and Drones with the \u201cSpright Entrepreneurship Award\u201d at the Women to Watch Global Awards 2022, held at the CES <a href=\"https:\/\/www.founderlabs.in\/how-are-technology-driven-jewelry-trends-luring-millennials\/\">technology<\/a> festival in Vegas, USA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She is part of the Cornell Maha60 2022 cohort &amp; TiE Nurture 10 program <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Alekar is now working on using AI and ML to automate inspections and facilitate predictive maintenance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pune-based Niharika Kolte Alekar\u2019s penchant for solving hard-sticky problems led her to explore the possibility of using drones to inspect the insides of boilers, tanks, chimneys, and other confined spaces.
